Samuelsohn's 2023 centennial marked the reveal of the "Iconics" clothing line—a collection of ten meticulously crafted garments embodying prestigious materials and unrivaled artistry. I was aiming for timeless, something that the company could look back on years from now and still be proud of.
Our challenge for this lookbook was to strike a delicate balance: crafting a timeless design that highlights the Iconics collection's essence, while seamlessly integrating with the visual language of other trade marketing materials like Centennial Hanger Tags, Lapel Pins, Hand Tags, and Garment Bags. (Project coming soon) — To achieve this, we opted for a die-cut front cover adorned with a black foil hotstamp, complemented by luxurious velvet paper, echoing the elegant Centennial Hanger Tags that play a significant role in our comprehensive Centennial marketing campaign.
This project has been incredibly challenging, resulting in the creation of fourteen distinct versions of the lookbook stored on my harddrive. The version you're looking at, number fourteen, represents a blend of early and late design concepts. To ensure print feasibility, we had to streamline some ideas, effectively turning it into a Frankenstein-like project.
The final outcome of this project is something I am truly proud of. Meticulously designed over many months, this lookbook exudes both elegance and sophistication, perfectly complementing the exceptional craftsmanship of the Samuelsohn "Iconics" line of garments.
